Reno, NV - The spring gala season
for A.V.A. Ballet Theatre opens with the classic ballet The Frozen Snow Queen on April 9th and 10th at the Pioneer Center
for the Performing Arts. Choreographed by Alexander Van Alstyne, The Frozen
Snow Queen is the captivating story written by Hans Christian Andersen. In the
tale, the young Gerda searches for her friend Kai after his heart has been
pierced by a fragment of an evil mirror. Kai falls under the spell of the
Frozen Snow Queen and it is up to Gerda to save him from his icy fate. This
classic story is filled with mesmerizing dance, intrigue, and is fun for the
entire family. The Reno Philharmonic Orchestra will perform the exciting score.
Outstanding guest principal
dancers who have danced with Salt Lake City’s Ballet West will perform with the
large cast from A.V.A. Ballet Theatre.
The Saturday April 9th performance
will be held at 8pm and the Sunday April 10th performance will be at 2pm. Ticket
prices for adults are $25 to $45. Ticket prices for children 12 and under and
seniors 65 and older are $20 to $40. For tickets call the Pioneer Center at 1-866-553-6605

11am to 6pm.
A.V.A. Ballet Theatre is the
resident ballet company of the Pioneer Center for the Performing Arts. They are
northern Nevada's largest company under the instruction of a professional
faculty with years of performing experience in renowned metropolitan ballet and
production companies across the United States and Europe.
